Return to Camelot

It has been a long and difficult relationship. We haven't seen each other in months and the fact my friends speak of his so often makes my heart ache with every imitation they do. But yesterday at a coffeehouse of all places we were reunited, and though the reunion was bit awkward we left with full intentions of catching. No I'm not talking about a guy....noob. I'm talking about the greatest thing to come out of the U.K. since the Beatles, the literal holy grail of the film industry....Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Say what you will about the plots incoherency...I think its bloody brilliant (Cheesy English Lingo mode:Engaged). I mean Monty Python in general was hilarious but this was just....(*3*)! But you may be wondering why I've had such a rocky love affair with this movie I adore so much. Well its a two part answer...the first reason I haven't watched it in so long is because I've been replacing live action movie and T.V. with shows of the more animated persuasion as you can see below. But the big reason we haven't been together in so long is tragically simple. My father despises British Humor....flat out hates it. My father, like most Americans,  never developed the acquired taste for the Brit's idea of hilarity, and so with the cream of the English movie crop banned from my household's T.V.'s my love was confined to Youtube and screenings at friends house where one is scolded for saying the lines before they actually occur. But to those of you who are members of the nerd community and are still unfamiliar with this....do not deprive yourselves any longer. If you are desperate for brutal sword play, killer lagomorphs, blessed beverage holders, and annoying frenchmen than well you should know by now where to go shouldn't you......

MADNESS?..THIS IS AUSTRIA!

Well it was inevitable. It is time to blog about one of the most epic story arcs in Hetalia world series-THE WAR OF AUSTRIAN SUCESSION! It is undecided in my book whether I like these few episodes because they deal with the actual battle between Austria and Prussia in 1740 (saving me a long time studying in history class) or because well the awesome cast. Anyway enough about me I'm sure you'd like to hear about the actual episode right? Well lets not keep you waiting. The episode opens with a new character waving to audience of jubilant austrians. This overdressed arstitocrat is Queen Maria Theresa, who after the extremely and unnessacaryily long opening credits the queen comes off to meet the personification of Austria.

They talk about the recent coronation another within six seconds the entire episode becomes a total war drama because apparently another personified country-Prussia stole a region in Austria called Silesia. Weirdly enough Prussia informs Austria of this via a cute message toting yellow chick. Austria has always been a pansy so he wants to surrender but maria theresa "talks him" into fighting Prussia and his awesome Austria crushing force (France Prussia and Spain)

The fact that France is opposing Austria attracted the attention of France's mortal enemy-England. England's support of Austria gave Austria some hope of victory, but Austria is still weak and looses in the first battle to the sly red eyed country and his army of awesome. After the defeat England fled leaving Austria alone to face the bad friends trio.

After returning to Vienns to inform Maria theresa of his defeat, but then we find the only other female character in this anime has made an appearance...along with around 100,000 soldiers prepared to fight for Austria-Ms. Hungary. Although reluctant to let a woman do the fighting for him Austria does not object to sitting on the sidelines and watching Hungary go all rage while destroying Prussia's army.

I mean that can't be a sane face. Anyways Prussia ends the war calling it a tie, but shouts he'll be keeping the Silesia territory for himself as he struts into the distance.
This is the holy grail of episodes for fans of this series the number of quotable lines from this arc alone are too many to count. And to sum it all up in a word....AWESOME

We Meet again Black Butler..

Take a look at this face. This is the face of pure evil, and the reason I returned to watch the rest of the Black Butler series.Believe it or not this is not only a guy (blew me away) but also the secret identity of this guy- The dark haired one was named Grekk a typically clumsy of a rich lady in the series. He acted as the contrast for the perfect Butler of the series, Sebastian. I was initially nnoyed and bored by Grell, because he was only present for slapstick. But a few episodes after I stopped watching a friend of mine was telling me about the awesome new shinigami in the series (death demon for those of you who never got around to watching deathnote). I was curious because he was telling me how this new antagonist was responsible for the deaths of characters that had been attriuted to others. And when I finally draggedmyself away from the new episodes of Hellsing I was initially frustrated and confused when I saw meek Grell standing over the body of one of the characters but by the end of the episode he was the psycho looking red-head pictured below. I've only seen two episodes with this Grell, but I all ready love him: He's creepy, insane, plus he carries a chainsaw/sickle that makes Sebastian's perfect silverware look like well...silverware. Long story short...I have returned to the dark side (jaja pun)

Hello my name Is Katherine, and I'm a nerdy shopaholic

Privet! Since I have been informed that people I actually will have contact with will be viewing this blog so I have decided just this once to blog about something somewhat normal...places to shop online that are better than amazon and ebay. Today while skimming youtube i came across an awesome/disturbing commercial (look up das beer boot if you're curious) for a site called vat19. It boasted curiously awesome gifts and on further inspection they were right. In the six minutes I've been on the site I've been tempted to buy magnet putty, a straw construction set, a giant gummybear (pictured above) and an AK-47 water gun among other things. If you want to check it out its a great place to buy wonderfully weird stuff. The other site I wanted to talk about was introduced to me by a friend. Thinkgeek.com is a lot like vat19 but more nerd oriented. This is the place you'd go to find things like atomic laser pointers or self DNA testing kits, but the main reason I like it is they have a wide variety of DOMO products and seem to have a thing for reinventing chopsticks and selling Asian cookbooks. Thank you kindly for your limited attention span and please read again...

Well this is Ironic

Hey peoples of the world! Yeah I'm back...I've been gone for forever haven't I? The only reason I've remebere this little blog was because I am currently in computer lab "learning" to use this site. I'm sure people will be looking at this- and probably grading this- but I doubt my content will hold their attention for more than twelve sentences. Well school distracts me from whats really important here doesn't it? But don't worry I've been up to my heta-nnigans as usual. Namely watching the new episodes that have come out since I left-namely the super mega awesome Nordic episode. Yes, its official Iceland and Norway have finally spoken more than two lines in an episode. Not only that they got an entire story line! The main characters haven't even had a legit plot in months. But the bits with Denmark were my favorite...even if he only had a cameo before this I've loved him since the manga-how can you not like someone who carries a viking ax? The other episode was less memorable but still awesome. It featured Italy and France meeting up on that island that seems to be in every episode. Eventually we have a two minute montage of nothing but Germany being repeatedly being punched and poked by Russia and England. Its the main template for the rest of the series, but the fact Seychelles makes her appearance at the end made it noteworthy. Thanks for your limited attention...

Anime Undercover

Well, if I get your word you won't tell the warden Ill let you know I'm currently flying under the radar of our school's network, and with the teacher standing six feet away from me no less. This is what nerds do for adrenaline rushes don't they-oh well I accept my niche in society with pride. Anyway topic for this post new hetalia episode(world series 49) and a minor note having to do with Black Butler.
For anyone who's read the manga you know this is part two of "Black Ships Have Come" although I'm sad funimation isn't continuing with Tartar's Yoke or any of those random chibi prussia tid bits, I found myself enjoying this episode more than the last one. But that was probably due in part to a particularly "d'aww" inducing bit with England offering to be America's "friend" after he sees his former colony spending quality time with a whale. Besides that the show mainly featured Japan and America buddying up....man Russia needs another episode or kolkolkolkolkolkolkol.....
Anyway as for that Black Butler tid bit I'll let you come up with the verdict...

No ONe Hit Wonder Am I?

Well my day was depressingly average, but thats nothing new is it? Its not like I want a high school career the mirror image of Ouran High School Host Club, but come on Life through your unwitting young captives a bone every once and a while. We aren't asking that much on your part: a meteor hitting the principal's car, lost circus setting up camp in the senior parking lot, anything. Heck, if the only way I can stay awake during seventh period french is by doodling the bad friends trio giving Austria wedgies and praying we have a fire drill you should know you're doing something wrong!

And that was my philosophical hissy fir for this post. Thank you for watching please deposit popcorn and any other refreshments in the indicated trash bins on your way out. Goodbye, Goodnight, and PASTAA!
